Power Settings Visor Decal Installation Instructions
Use the steps below to install your Power Settings Visor Decal for a clean, bubble-free result. Read through the full process before starting, and make sure the visor is properly supported during application.
Important: If the visor is not fully supported while pressure is applied, the visor can crack. If hardware is still attached or the visor has a ribbed edge, place it on a firm raised support such as a small piece of plywood or a hard-cover book covered with a soft cloth.

Tools and Supplies
- Decal application tool or stiff plastic squeegee.
- Application spray made from 1 drop of Dawn dishwashing soap to 1 pint of water.
- 3/4-inch masking tape.
- Old T-shirt or soft cloth.
- If needed, a small piece of plywood or a hard-cover book to support the visor.
Installation Steps
- Remove the visor from the plane and clean it with a recommended cleaner or the application spray.
- Set up a raised, hard, flat work surface such as a small piece of 3/4-inch plywood or a maintenance manual, then cover it with an old T-shirt pulled tight so there are no wrinkles.
- Place the visor on the surface and make sure any attached perimeter parts are not preventing it from sitting completely flat.
- If you have the old visor, note the location of the printed Power Settings Chart and use masking tape to create a loose placement guide on the new visor. If you do not have the old visor, place the decal on the visor with the backing still attached and use masking tape to mark the location.
- Wash your hands with soap and water so oils from your fingers do not transfer to the decal.
- Spray a thick layer of application spray onto the area where the decal will be installed.
- Peel the decal off the clear backing and keep the backing clean because you will use it again in a later step.
- Place the decal onto the visor and float it into position.
- Take the removed clear backing and lay it over the top of the decal. This step will allow you to apply a good amount of pressure to the surface without scratching or marring the decal or the visor.
- With the application squeegee, apply good pressure working from the center out and remove the application liquid from the behind the decal and out to the perimeter.
- Remove the clear backing. Wipe the area down with a soft cloth to remove the remaining application fluid.
- Re-install the visor.
If You Need to Reposition the Decal
The decal uses a relatively low-tack adhesive. If you are not happy with the placement, lift one edge carefully with a fingernail, slowly remove the decal, and start over.
